Always Faithful Murtha

May 31, 2006 / by nobullthinker

Last night I saw an excerpt of an interview with a survivor of the "Hidatha massacre". It featured a girl of about 12 and her brother, about 10. She did all the talking. One could not fail to notice that her speech was well scripted and thoroughly rehearsed. This script could only have been written by the interviewers themselves - Al gezera.
A standing ovation was warranted for her performance as she flawlessly repeated her statements and answered the same questions time and time again. Well, it was almost flawless. She did make one small slip.
She said that she 'knew the bomb was about to explode' and tried to take evasive action.
What bomb was she talking about? There was only one bomb involved in this action - the one that blew up the convoy.
If this girl knew about it every adult in the neighborhood had to have known about it. Why were these children allowed to stay within the blast radius of this bomb? Was it the intention of the bombers to kill or injure them for propaganda value? And, too, why shouldn't we have expected every surviving soldier in that convoy to assume that the people within that neighborhood were enemies or collaborators?
The interview continued and went on to show the injury received by the girl's brother. Directly on the spinal column just below the neck was a deep one-inch scar. There is no possible way that this was a bullet wound because the boy had full function in all of his limbs. This kind of injury could only have been the result of a blast and resulting shrapnel. Considering that there was not enough penetration to cause spinal damage I assume that the scar resulted from hot metal embedding itself just below the skin or some similar type cause. This backs up the girl's statement that she and her brother were within the blast radius when the ambush was sprung and were aware that the blast was coming. It also supports the soldier's initial claims that (at least to their knowledge) the civilian casualties at Haditha were the result of the IED explosion.
Our impotent and incompetent government is giving us no information what-so-ever on the details of the action at Hidatha and is permitting Murtha and the press free reign to spew venom on our troops. Unfortunately democracy has no defense against the freedom of speech when it is turned against those who would destroy it. And although Murtha is clearly guilty of sedition no one would dare bring formal charges against him because his right to verbally destroy his country is protected.
If the Press and the Left are allowed to turn Hidatha into another My Lai we need to pull out of Iraq immediately. Any chance of a positive outcome there will be finished. Our troops will not risk their lives for a country that turns its back on them. Nor should we expect them to.

[THUMBUP] A very good post! Cities such as Haditha are populated by Sunni supporters of the Saddam Hussein regime. These Sunnis know about these roadside bombs and encourage them. John Murtha and others expect Americans to take casualties without reprisal? There are no civilians in Iraq and there are no enemy soldiers, every Iraqi is either a friend or a foe. Haditha and the surrounding province is almost all foes. John Murtha seems to care more about enemy Iraqi casualties than he does about Americans. Has Murtha ever complained about the terrorists actually beheading captives?

It just may be that we are witnessing a new tactic on the part of Islamic terrorists. Blowing themselves up to take handfuls of innocent people with them has become a fruitless gesture. I suspect they have come to realize the potential of "suicide by cop". If they can orchestrate scenarios in which our troops are forced to kill civillians in innocent poses they know that our effete media will lavish such acts with headlines. Watch for it.

The leftist press has taken the position of not "disturbing" us with the visual horror of 9/11, the media made it too easy to forget the nature of the enemy that started this war. But, they will show bodies from Iraq supposedly killed by Marines, over and over. Is it possible that they want to "disturb" our thinking or stir our emotions into sympathizing with our sworn enemies? Why haven't they applied the same reasoning?

Maybe the moral clarity of 9/11 wouldn't have dissipated quite so quickly...if Americans had been confronted with those "disturbing" images more often. What the jihadis did to 3,000 innocent human beings that morning they would willingly do the rest of us. I don't hear that point stressed, over and over.

I'm disturbed by treason going unpunished. And, many on the left in this country is guilty of just that. They are giving aid to our enemies.

People on the left need to believe that everyone loves them. Since they know that we on the right cannot stomach them we are the only enemy they recognize.

I can't understand what Murtha is doing. Who is he trying to help..?? Does he think dissecting one military battle will help his cause of getting the US out of Iraq..??

Why isn't Murtha upset over the innocent journalists who are blown up by terrorists..??

Oh..That's right.. Murtha doesn't believe terrorists are doing anything wrong.

Sometimes it's hard to divine a politician's motives. In Murtha's case I'd venture a guess that he's blinded by the bright lights of media focus.

Maybe Murtha is looking for a VP spot in 2008?
